Bloody Mary

For the morning after! While most spirits average around 120 calories in a typical pour, when you start adding fruit and veggie juice to the mix that number quickly goes up — a Bloody Mary can easily add 350 calories and a ton of sodium to your meal. So, instead of using a store-bought mix full of sodium, sugar and unwanted extra calories, make your own tomato juice and build your own healthier Mary.

Total Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:
  • 1 jigger (1.5 oz or 3 tablespoons) vodka
  • 6 oz fresh tomato juice
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 to 3 drops hot sauce
  • 2 to 3 drops Worcestershire sauce
  • dash fresh ground black pepper, to taste
  • lemon wedge, celery stalk for garnish
Preparation

In a tall glass, mix vodka, tomato juice, and lemon juice. Mix in the flavorings, adjusting to taste. Add ice cubes, and garnish with a celery stalk and/or lemon wedge/cucumber slice and enjoy!
